NEW SHOW- SAMOANS & FREEZE THE ATLANTIC JOIN US ON A DOUBLE HEADLINER TOUR IN OCTOBER

The Soundhouse Leicester is delighted to bring an epic double headliner show with Samoans & Freeze the Atlantic on Saturday 24th October.

Samoans
Rock Sound: “Carving a sound somewhere between ‘Ideal Height’-era Biffy Clyro and a more expansive ASIWYFA-esque post-rock landscape, there’s enough to entice fans of both the weird and the straightforward”.

Artrocker: “One of Cardiff’s premier math-rock bands Samoans always manage to do themselves justice live. The band have somehow taken their tech led math-core out of the niche and into the proverbial living room of folk; it’s a daring sound that splits away from the M.O.R. dregs of the commercial chart. On record they are big and bold but live they run at unparalleled breakneck speeds”.

The Guardian: “Infectiously loud and exciting brand of rock music. a great choice to watch live”.

Freeze The Atlantic
Since the band started in 2009, originally by Andy Gilmour (Hundred Reasons) & Guy Davis (Reuben), Freeze the Atlantic have seen three different vocalists and two different bassists. One would think these changes would destabilise a band’s motivation, but with version 4.0 of the band FTA are exactly where they want to be.

2012’s debut effort ‘Speakeasy’ was an 11 track pop-rock powerhouse, featuring many faces from the band member’s histories; and subsequently its future. It was a statement of intent for Freeze the Atlantic and, whilst critically acclaimed, was a sign that there was so much more to come. Numerous UK & Ireland tours followed, with breakthrough performances at prestigious festivals and plays by Radio 1 & Xfm further developing their sound and growing fanbase.

Now, with renewed vigour, 2014 sees the band release their second, self titled album. Writing a brand new record with a new line-up has brought fresh ideas and new elements to a refreshingly British sound. Heavier, smarter and more accomplished; it encompasses all of this bands writing abilities and represents their yearning for more.
