NEW SHOW- HOWARD ROSE RETURNS TO LEICESTER FOR A SPECIAL SHOW IN FEBRUARY!

The Soundhouse presents the incredible Howard Rose returning to Leicester on Friday 26th February!

After announcing himself on a huge platform as part of The Voice last year, Howard has kicked on as a full time-musician, writing and performing a strong catalogue of material which look to cement him as one of the best talents in the country.

The Melton Mowbray born singer songwriter made great strides in 2015 releasing the “Make It Easy” EP followed by new single “The Sailor”. 2016 promises to be an even bigger year for Howard so don’t miss him perform with his live band for what will be a fantastic show!

Tin Pigeons are a 4 piece from Rutland who have developed their own style of energetic Indie Folk that has seen them venture to the Cambridge Folk Festival where they won the young musician competition in 2012.
Sound wise they are likened to Mumford & Sons, Bombay Bicycle Club and Bears Den.
They have already supported the likes of Little Mammoths, Howard Rose, Hunter & The Bear and artists from Noah & The Whale and had support from BBC Introducing.

George Simpson is a singer/songwriter born and bred in the Leicestershire market town of Melton Mowbray. George is one of the UK’s top under the radar solo artists. George’s style can be described as acoustic pop, catchy, melodic and uplifting as he attempts to create music which appeal to the wider audience. He has been featured on BBC Radio 2 and had support from BBC Introducing.

NEW SHOW- THE BRILLIANT DEADCUTS RETURN IN APRIL!

Strangling Vinyl Promotions presents the return of the brilliant dark post-punk of DEADCUTS on Saturday 23rd April!

Formed by Mark Keds (Senseless Things) and Jerome Alexandre, the band have gone from strength to strength since forming on the first full moon of 2012.

The band had a fantastic 2015 picking up support slots with The Libertines, Fat White Family, Sebadoh along with releasing the Dope Girls EP and also recording a video for Summon The Witches which featured Rev Wayne D Love of Alabama 3.

After a little reshuffle, the band recently announced that former Senseless Things drummer and Gorillaz member Cass Browne would be joining the band to make Deadcuts a force to be reckoned with.

Off the back of receiving critical acclaim both live and from their debut LP “Dark Is The Night”, the band follow it up with a brand new record in 2016 which promises to be their best work yet.

TONIGHT we are celebrating another great year of Open Mic at The Soundhouse Leicester with the Xmas Special

hosted by Rhett Barrow!

Featuring original rapper ‘Gamma’, brilliant local magician Colin Skinner Magic and topped off with two amazing rock and roll bands Revival and The Jav’lins!

There will be plenty of open mic slots available from 7-9.30pm, and as is tradition a FREE shot to anyone that plays a xmas song or wears a santa hat.

Plus we’ll be doing a raffle to win 2 tickets to any Soundhouse gig in 2016.

Their latest single ‘Go Go Go ‘- has been championed by the likes of Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music and spanked by Huw Stephens on Radio 1. The band also featured on Radio 1’s best of BBC Introducing list 2015 as well as earning a slot on the Introducing Stage at Reading & Leeds Festival.

Phobophobes
Phobophobes hail from Peckham, and have built their very own sonic laboratory. Dirty, gritty psychedelia, the band match the low-slung growl of The Birthday Party, say, to the organ-wash of The Seeds. Their latest release is on RIP Records “Advertise Your Life / Make A Person.”
