Saturday 2nd July
Yet another ace show at the Soundhouse on Saturday 2nd July. Singer Grace Petrie opened the show with her raw edged set of songs, hugely powerful voice and glittering guitar work. Ashdowne are always a great attraction. This superb Leicester band deivered a set of tantalising lovely songs, produced with their usual faultless delivery. The Chairmen demonstrated that they are, as always, a major part of our local rockerati. The finale of the evening saw James lead The Great Imitation in another over the top but amazing set of rap and comedy. My favourite DJs Tribal Riot closed off the night with their highly gratifying electro club sounds. Another great gig from the Soundhouse. One year old and growing all the time.
Hot Damn 5th July
Hot Damn came all the way from Newport in Wales to headline the Soundhouse show on Tuesday 5th July. I Liked them. Their set bristled with energy, their lead vocalist had lashings of presence and the kids went crazy for them. Supported by local bands We're Not Worthy and Flip Like Wilson it was a full on night.
